Featuring white metallic gloss, titanium is light, extremely strong and highly resistant to corrosion. Its main applications include shipbuilding, power generation and medical devices.
Powered by state-of-the-art facility and technology, POSCO operates a totally computerized, end-to-end full automatic production system. This allows us to deliver high-quality and high-performance products to the needs of customers.
Slabs of titanium are rolled into black coils of highly refined thickness and shape before being made into white coils through heat treatment, pickling and finishing in the annealing and pickling plant to the needs of customers. White coils so produced are used for cold rolling and pipes.
POSCO has the capability to cold-roll titanium into products of 0.4 mm to 2.0 mm in thickness and up to 1,219 mm in width using a cold rolling mill (CRM) capable of automatic flatness control (AFC) and automatic gauge control (AGC) as well as vacuum annealing and a tension leveling line (TLL).
Slabs of titanium are rolled into products of the dimensions specified by the customer through heat-treatment and pickling process. Titanium plates are used by the heavy chemical industries that require corrosion resistance, such as petrochemicals, power plant facilities, semiconductors and special shipbuilding.
